UPWARD BOUND SUMMER PROGRAM 2019 The Upward Bound summer program provides students with amazing educational opportunities and college preparation. During week 1 students will be living on the Simpson University campus. They will get a crash course college experience along with awesome intellectual workshops, field trips and activities. Weeks 2,3,4, and 6 will consist of college prep classes that the students will take online and/or in the MSHS campus. Students will get the opportunity to work among their friends and classmates, building a solid academic base for the school-year to come. Week 5 is arguably the COOLEST part of the summer program. Students will be going on a road trip that will take them to unique new locations and awesome college tours to expand their horizons and open their eyes to the opportunities that are out there for them. All Simpson University Upward Bound students are encouraged and advised to participate in the summer program. It's an amazing opportunity that cannot be missed!
UPWARD BOUND SUMMER PROGRAM 2020 Due to the unfortunate circumstances this year, the summer program has taken on distance learning to continue giving our students more educational opportunities during these difficult times. Weeks 1 and 2 will consist of virtual college/university tours, followed by chance to win some college swag from each school! Week 3 will be an SAT Bootcamp virtually taught to us by Colee Masciola over zoom. Weeks 4 and 5 will be drone technology/robotics with Greg Eastman. With school approval, these events will be held at MSHS for students to build and fly their drones! Week 6 will also be held at MSHS and will be a Paleo Anthropology course taught by Barbara Paulson. (Each event held at the school will have students following social distancing guidelines to make everyone participating as safe as possible during this pandemic)
